Beam

Samuel Elijah Beam, 79, farmer of the Blackstock section of Ches­ter County died suddenly at his home Monday afternoon although he had been in declining health for some time.

He was a native of Blackstock section, where he lived all of his life. He was the son of the late, Elijah and the late Emma Mickle Beam. He was a deacon of the, Blackstock Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Hoyt McKeown, and one grandson, Lloyd McKeown of Blackstock, and one brother, Jesse Beam of Chester.

Funeral services were conduct­ed at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Blackstock Baptist Church by his pastor, the Rev. Warren D. Step­pe. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Ed Lee, Herbert Beam, W. F. Griggs, Clyde Wright, George Wright and Earl Lee. Deacons of the Blackstock Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
