PLAINVIEW-- The funeral for Leon H. Irish, 91, of Plainview will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Plainview, the Revs. Charles G. Coggins, Donald Lloyd and Kevin Kastler officiating.
Mr. Irish, a retired Plainview farmer, died Thursday morning (Sept. 2, 2004) in Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. Leon Harry Irish was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Beaver. He attended rural schools in the Beaver area. He married Margaret D. Ball in 1936 in Beaver United Methodist Church. He lived his entire life in the Plainview area. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Plainview and enjoyed fishing and auto trips.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Glenn (Terry) of Rochester; two daughters, LeAnn (Dale) Higgins of Aurora, Minn., and Jean (Ken) Schmoll of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and a half brother, William (Shirley) Edwards of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by a grandson, two great-grandchildren and a half brother.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Chruch of Christ and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
