The former Alice Reineck was born March 6. 1908, in Milwaukee, a daughter of Arthur and Augusta Hartwig Reineck. She attended the district school at Rhine Center and Sheboygan Business College.
On Nov. 5, 1932, she was married at St. Peter United Church of Christ in the Town of Rhine to Milton H. Groene. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of Greenbush before moving to Plymouth in 1967.
Mrs. Groene had been employed as a chef at Camp Anokijig for 17 years. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ of Plymouth and had been a member of its Willing Workers Society. She was a member of the German Corners and Plymouth Homemakers Society and the AARP in Plymouth.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard of Route 4, Plymouth, and Ralph of Route 3, Plymouth; and a daughter, Mrs. George (Rita) Smick of Oregon; eight grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren; a brother, Harold Reineck of Sheboygan; and a sister, Mrs. Elroy (Minnette) Rautmann of Johnsonville.
Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev. Lowell Ferguson, pastor of Salem United . Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Friday until the time of the services. A memorial has been established in the name of Mrs. Groene.
