Pittsford - Barbara M. Kingsley died February 10th, 2012. She was born November 18th, 1918, in Brandon, Vermont, the daughter of Charles Mynderse and Maybelle (Fuller) Chandler.

She graduated from Pittsford High School. She was employed by Vermont Marble Co., Blossoms Restaurant and the Holiday Inn, over the years. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, playing cards and bingo. She very much enjoyed feeding the birds and taking care of her plants. Barbara was also a 20-year member volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Barbara truly loved her family more than life itself. Everyone who met her loved her for her big heart and sense of humor, which she never lost.

Barbara is survived by one brother, Edward Carter and wife Betty of Pittsford; one daughter, Virginia Field and husband Hollis of Pittsford; granddaughter Melanie Grabowski and husband Paul of West Rutland, granddaughter Darcy Perry and husband Gene of Georgia, granddaughter Lisa Johnson of Rutland; grandson Steven Doaner of Florida. She also has seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She always said the Village Manor residents and staff in Pittsford were her extended family.

Barbara was predeceased by her father, Charles Chandler; her mother, Maybelle Chandler; her brother, Claude Chandler; husband Harry Burgess (passed in 1959); stepfather, Lema Carter; husband Allen Manning (passed in 1974); husband Frank Kingsley (passed in 1987); sister Mary Carter; and most recently, her daughter, Diana Doaner, son-in-law Roger Doaner, and sister Jean Sass.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsford Food Shelf. Barbara always said, "No child should go to bed hungry." Donations made in care of Robin Rowe, 90 Evelyn Drive, Pittsford, VT. Barbara's request was no flowers, to please send donations to the food shelf in Barbara's name.

The Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford will be handling the arrangements. Due to the time of year, the funeral service and burial will be held at a later time, to be decided in late April.
