Obituary
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in Portland Memorial Funeral Home for Virginia C. McGill, who died Jan. 17 at age 93.
Mrs. McGill was born May 7, 1905, in Bessemer, Mich. Her maiden name was Endrizzi. She moved to Portland in 1911 and graduated from Franklin High School in 1922. During World War II, she was a volunteer fund-raiser for the American Red Cross. She was a secretary for Gerber Advertising for 12 years and then a secretary for New Italian Importing Co. for 25 years until retiring in 1975. After her retirement, she was a volunteer social worker for the St. Vincent de Paul Society for five years. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and was a past president of the Hosford Elementary School PTA. In 1928, she married Vernon "Bud"; he died in 1951.
Survivors include her son, Gary of Vancouver, Wash.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Private interment will be in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. The family suggests remembrances to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
