Ralph W. Embick, Sr., 81, of Loganton, passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 at Lock Haven Hospital.

Ralph, a son of the late Elmer and Alverta Wolmeldorf Embick, was born on August 31, 1929 in Mill Hall.

He was a 1947 graduate of Loganton High School. He then attended Bible College in Florida.

On May 28, 1948, Ralph married Dorothy M. Brungart. Mrs. Embick survives at their home in Loganton.

Ralph is also survived by one daughter, Diane M. Rege (Satish) of Pepperell, Ma.; two sons, Dale E. Embick of Loganton and David L. Embick of Pine Creek; two granddaughters, Diane K. Weaver (Robbie) of Loganton and Gitanjali S. Rege (Filip) of Belmont, Ma.; four great grandchildren, Hunter, Tanner and Taylor Weaver and Lyla M. Rege.

Also surviving is one sister, Wanda Ewing of Clarksburg and one brother, Paul Embick of Renovo.

Ralph was preceded in death by one son, Daryl W. Embick.

Ralph was a member of the Rebersburg God's Missionary Church.

He was the owner/operator of the Maple Grove Farm in Greene Twp. and was also a well known, self-employed mason, carpenter and electrician in the local area.

Ralph was a life member of the Sugar Valley Fire Co. #13 where he had held many offices. In later years he was also involved with the Fire Police. He was a member of the Sugar Valley Lions Club and a former member of the Clintondale Grange.

Ralph was also involved with the Pa. Farm Bureau and served on the Sugar Valley School Board and the Greene Twp. Planning and Hearing Commission. Ralph was an animal lover and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Family and friends will be received at the Loganton Weselyn Church, 4972 Long Run Road., Loganton, on Thursday, Ja. 6, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at the church on Friday, Jan. 7 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dan Reed officiating. Burial will be in the Evangelical Cemetery in Rebersburg.
