On September 4, 1911, Anna Karen Beaver married Barney Blackwell Carruth in Garland, Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Carruth had several children: Juanita (Mrs. Russell Boren), Mary E. (Mrs. W.C. "Dub" Mercer), Gideon Andrew, Donald E. and Mildred Billie Carruth (Mrs. Kerr).
Native of Garland Dies in Sherman
SHERMAN, Texas, Feb. 7.-Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Collinsville Methodist Church for Mrs. Anna Karen Carruth, 60, native of Garland, who died Friday in a Sherman hospital. She had been ill four months.
The Rev. R.B. Cates, pastor of the Collinsworth Methodist Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W.D. Craig, Collinsville Methodist minister. Burial will be in Collinsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Carruth was born Jan. 12, 1893. She was Miss Anna Beaver before her marriage to Barney Carruth in 1911. Carruth died February, 1947. Mrs. Carruth moved from Garland to Collinsville in 1917 and to Whitesboro in 1946 and to Sherman in 1947 where she had lived since. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Don Carruth and Gid Carruth, both of Gainesville, and Mrs. Russell Boren of Sherman; four brothers, D.E. Beaver of Bonham and C.V. Beaver, C.W. Beaver and H.F. Beaver, all of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Light and Mrs. Bob Alford of Dallas, and eight grandchildren.
