Elmer G. Schneider, 92, Denmark, died Friday morning May 22, 1981 at a Green Bay nursing home. Mr. Schneider was born Dec. 5, 1888 in the Town of Cooperstown to the late Frederick and Ida (Krieser) Schneider.

Elmer attended Hickory Grove School in Maribel. In 1905, at age 17, he went to Milbank, South Dakota and worked for three years on a farm for George Koch and did carpenter work for his brother William.

In 1917, Mr Schneider entered the military, served in the U.S. Army during WWI and was a member of the World War I Barracks No. 1199, Green Bay. After he was discharged, he went to Grand Rapids, MI, and served on the police force. Later he came back to DePere, WI and began carpenter work for Leo Lee.

On Sept 4, 1930, he married the former Sadie Nohr at Lark Evangelical Church. Sadie & Elmer owned & operated a grocery store at Hickory Grove in the town of Cooperstown for 18 years. After selling the business, they moved to Denmark and built several houses. Elmer worked for building contractors Louis Mueller and Frank Nemitz.

His wife, Sadie, preceded him in death Sept. 1, 1977.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Elmer Miller, Denmark; one granddaughter, Dinah (Wayne) Hessil, Green Bay; one grandson, Randall Miller, Denmark; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Thiele, Green Bay; three sisters-in-law, Josephine Schneider and Elsie Schneider, both of Denmark; Leonora Schneider, Greenleaf.
One infant daughter, Agnes; nine brothers, David, Denmark; Edward, Morrison; William, Alfred, Henry, Emil, Enos, Harry, and Oscar; and one sister, Mrs. Ida Trapp, McAllen TX; preceded him in death.

Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at Lark United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dale Kelm officiating. Burial in the Lark Emanuel's Cemetery.
