Early Life: He was born July 27, 1913, in Price, Utah, to Martin Mathias and Johanna Marie Mortensen Olson. He received his education in Carbon County schools.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: He was a coal miner and member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a farmer and for many years, his farm in Carbon County was selected as an experimental farm for Utah State University. He was a member of the Lions Club in Price. He lived most of his life in Carbon County and moved to Provo in 1961. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Provo 11th Ward. George Allen Olson, of Provo, died Tuesday, April 17, 1984, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center of black lung. He was 70 years old.
Survived By: His wife, of Provo; two sons and three daughters: David A. Olson and Elaine Olson, both of Orem; G. Allen Olson Jr., of Orangeville; Greta (W. Clifford) Metcalf, of Murray; Eileen (Jim) Ferre and Elaine (Ray) Olsen, both of Provo; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: Carl Olson and Earl Olson, both of Wellington; Clara Russell, of Layton; and Edna Ditter, of Sacramento, CA.
