"The Goat Man of Goat Island is dead. Henry E. Hollaway 86, was taken off the lonely island Sunday and died en route to a hospital apparently of pneumonia. Hollaway and his wife had lived in seclusion for 22 years raising goats and other animals. They lived in a hut on Goat Island. Mrs Hollaway said her husband had been ill since the extreme cold weather about two weeks ago. Cole Walters of Mount Pleasant, who makes periodic trips to the small island, reported condition Sunday. The Coast Guard took Sullivans Island Police Chief Joe James to Goat Island and Hollaway was found to be in poor condition. He was brought to the Isle of Palms and rushed to a hospital in an ambulance. But he was dead on arrival. James said that as Hollaway was being taken from the island his wife kissed him and said, "Ive been feeding you good milk and honey so if you die I know you'll go to heaven."
