James Marion was son of James and Sarah Ann (Hines) Runion. Grandson of Susannah Harrison (Leach) and John Hines.
He was brother of Mary (Runion) Ashcraft, Manda (Runion) Smith/Coe/Walker, Susan (Runion) Albertson,
Isabel (Runion) Stewart, Sarah Jane (Runion) McCloud/Dickerson, Margaret Catherine (Runion) Albertson, Will, George, John, Hiraim, Nels and Darius.
James Marion married Mary Jane Roberts, daughter of Thomas S. and Mary Ann Jelf/Chelf. She is buried in Abners Creek Cemetery, Hendricks Co. In.
James Marion and Mary Jane were parents of Nora Bell (Runion) Hicks.
James Marion died as a result of measles and pneumonia after being caught out in the rain.
Leaving behind his young wife and five month old
daughter. He died on a farm near Montclair, Indiana in 1877 and buried there. He may have been buried in the cemetery
on his great grandparents' farm.
