Mr. Hugh Wesley Draper, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at the Hospice Hospital, Greensboro.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Draper, a Rockingham County native, was the son of the late Mr. Cannie and Maggie Purguson Draper. He was born March 8, 1922. He was a graduate of Wentworth High School and served as a medic in the U.S. Army, where he participated in the first day of the invasion of Normandy, in World War II. Mr. Draper was a retiree of George W. Cane Construction as well as a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Greensboro.
Mr. Draper was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Stone Draper; and brothers, Roy L. Draper and James E. Draper, both who were from Madison.
Surviving are his brothers, Charlie W. Draper and wife, Loel of Reidsville, William Russell Draper and wife, Aileen of Reidsville; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Street Chapel.
