Neoma Kanaly 80, a resident of Gold Crest Home, Adams died Sunday June 26, 1988 at the nursing home.
Mrs. Kanaly who was born and raised in Salem and the Salem area had been living in Lincoln entering the nursing home in March.
She was born on Oct 3, 1907 at Salem, the daughter of the late Claude Whitney and Florence Lesley Whitney. She graduated form Dawson High School in 1925.
She married Georg Funk Jr. on September 30, 1930 and he died on September 21, 1933. On May 20, 1934, she married James Kanaly, who died on July 17, 1966. Mr and Mrs. Kanaly had operated the Kanaly and Kanaly Grocery in Dawson from 1945 to 1952.
In Lincoln, Mrs. Kanaly, a member of St. John's Catholic Church and it's Altar Society, worked for a time as an employee of Bryan Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Kanaly is survived by three daughters, Mary(Mrs. Cletus) Martinosky, Lincoln, Peggy (Mrs. Dale) Suchsland, Omaha and Connie Arnold, Lincoln, 10 grand children and 12 great grand children.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dawson on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Father James Halligan will officiate. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p,m, Tuesday at the Metcalf Funeral Home. 345 North 27th, Lincoln. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Kanaly's grandson, Larry and Jim Martinosky, Scott Suchsland, and John, Mike and Dan Arnold
