Bob was educated in the San Francisco Schools and received a Bachelor of Science in Education and did post graduate work at the University of Southern California. He received a Doctorate of Education in Administration from Brigham Young University. Bob taught Elementary Education for the San Pete School District and Little Lake School District in California. He served 5 years as Associate Director of Education at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan. He tenured as an Associate Professor of Educational Administration at Northern Illinois University. Bob worked for the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization as an expert in Educational Testing & Measurement. In his position he traveled to four 3rd World Countries to upgrade educational systems.
He and his wife loved to travel and traveled throughout the world and the continental 49 states. His life interests included his children, gardening, building, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest in the Provo Pioneer Park Ward. He served in many church capacities and callings including manager of the Temple Housing at the Los Angeles California Temple. Bob also served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Radioman 3rd Class.
Bob is survived by his wife Rula of Provo, two sons and one daughter: John Arthur Cluff, Provo; Alice Ruth (Carl) Crowther, West Valley City; David Jerry (Debora) Cluff, Herriman. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two sisters: June Rollin, San Francisco, CA and Ruth Richie, Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Robert Alma Cluff.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at 11 am in the Provo Pioneer Park Ward at 300 South 600 West. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6–8 pm at the Walker Sanderson Tribute Center at 85 E. 300 S., Provo. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery with Military Rites by American Legion Post 68.
