John R. (Jack) Bogan
SAUQUOIT - John R. (Jack) Bogan, 50, of Paris Hill Rd., Sauquoit, and beloved husband of Marion L. Bogan, died July 17, 1987, in Faxton Hospital after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. He was born in Utica, the son of John and Helen Collins Bogan, and was educated in Utica schools. Jack served with the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968. For 14 years he was employed by Beauknit Fibers as a utility dryer operator and shop steward, and most recently was employed by Mohawk Containers, Inc., New Hartford for 12 years, before his retirement last November, due to ill health. He attended St. Patrick's Church, Clayville, and was a member of the American Legion Post #1000 of Chadwicks. Jack is survived by his wife, Marion, one brother, Stuart of Waterville, NY; a sister, Mrs. Leslie (Mary Ellen) Gates, of Frankfort, NY; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Helen Bogan, and a brother, Thomas. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, at 10:00, from St. Patrick's Church, Clayville. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 at the J. Donald Smith Funeral Home, 3026 Oneida St., Sauquoit.
