Marinus Rottier came to the US on June 23,1881.

Marinus may have gone by the English name of Martin Rottier.

Marinus's parents were Jan Rottier and Cornelia Eversen (or Everse, Evertsen, Evertse).

Marinus and Catarina Koeman were married in Krabbendijke, Zeeland, Netherlands, on July 6, 1876.

Children of Marinus and Catharine were Cornelia (1878-1963), Jan (John) Marinus (1877-1928), Minnie (1881-1918), Jennie (1888- ) and Johanas (1888- ).

As of the 1900 U.S. Federal Census, Martin was living in Dayton Township, Newaygo County, Michigan. He was living with his wife Catarina, his daughter Jennie and his son Johanas. Jennie was born in Michigan in March of 1886 and Johanas was born in Michigan in July of 1888. Apparently his other children were no longer living with him.

Martin was a farmer.

Catharine died in 1908.

By the 1910 U.S. Federal Census, Martin had remarried. Martin had married a woman named Ida Vogel who was presumably a widow. Ida had two children who were still living with her and Martin at the time of the 1910 census. Ida's children were William and Grace Vogel. William was 15 at the time and Grace was 13. In the 1920 Census, Martin and Ida were living in Grand Rapids, Kent Co., Michigan with Ida's three children (stepchildren of Marinus Rottier) Effie age 29, Grace age 22 and William age 26.
