Gertrude J. "Snookie" Davis, 75, of Paden City, passed away in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown WV on Wednesday 8, 2012.
She was born on July 7, 1936 in Tyler County, the daughter of the late Clem and Lula (Mercer) Amos.
She retired as the founder and owner of Davis Insurance Agency. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Clarington Order of Eastern Star No. 533 and served as Grand Representative of Manitoba in Ohio. She was member of Paden City Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of many years and friend, George H. Davis, Jr. and her brothers, Clem, Jr. and Burl Amos.
She is survived by a son, Mark Davis; two daughters, Vicky Lynn Davis and her husband, Dennis Reardon and Cathy Davis and her husband, Ashley Camper; two brothers, Ed Amos and Jim Amos; two sisters, Jane Zantene and Ruby McCoy and four grandchildren, Lisa McGuire, Lauren Camper, Matthew Lookadoo and Christa King.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 10, 2012 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Jarvis Funeral Home in Paden City with Order of Eastern Star Services at 6 p.m. Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Jarvis Funeral Home in Paden City, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Paden Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriners Children's Hospital, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095.
