Thomas Adrain Gamble, Sr., 87, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired supervisor for Frazier Roofing, where he worked for 45 years, a member and deacon of Springhill Baptist Church, 32 degree York Rite Mason, he was a Shriner, a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class, had been involved with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 88 for over 50 years, Scouting Honor's bestowed on him were: the Silver Beaver Award, The Wood Badge Award, he received his 50 year scouting pin, and the order of the Arrow Vigil Scout, he was proud to assist his son and grandson to receive their Eagle Scout Awards and he also played Santa Claus on the rooftops at Wheeler Street for many years.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps and Bro. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Gamble of Dyersburg; a daughter, Linda Ann Vaughn and husband, Ronnie, of Dyersburg; a son, Thomas Adrain Gamble, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Dyersburg; a brother, Billy Joe Gamble and wife, Norma, of Buford, GA.; four grandchildren, Chad Gamble and wife, Whitney, Stephanie Gamble, Timothy Wayne Vaughn and wife, Katie, and Laurie Marberry and husband, Steve,; and five great-grandchildren, Ansley Gamble, Chanler Vaughn, Londyn Vaughn, Madison Williams and Victoria Schultheis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Eva Tansil Gamble; a sister; and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Scout Leaders from the Dyersburg Area Boy Scouts. Honorary pallbearers will be Boy Scouts Troop 88.
Memorials may be directed to Scout Troop 88 - BSA c/o First Baptist Church.
