Jacob E. Hull married Esther Drake on Dec. 8, 1868 in Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada. They owned a general store in Alvinston, Canada, until they sold it in 1876 or 1877.

In 1877 Jacob E. Hull & his wife Esther along with their two son's Gilpin & Fred moved to Michigan from Canada. Jacob bought 40 acres in Sec. 30 Grant Twp, St. Clair County, Michigan. According to the 1880 census and the farm schedule dated in June of 1880 they farmed 40 acres in Sec. 30 west of Blain Michigan. He then bought 80 aces on the corner of Hull and Frenchline Roads, Section 26, Elmer Twp. in Oct. 1881. He bought and sold several other parcels close to the original 80 acres. He purchased a house in Sandusky in 1919 and Jacob and Esther lived there for the remainder of their years. Jacob was an ordained minister in the Baptist church. Marriage records show that he was the Minister for both of his daughter's, Mildred & Pearl wedding's and he also donated the land for the Hull School on the southeast corner of Hull and Frenchline roads.


In the newspaper article (Lower Right) of his first hand account of going to his farn in sec. 26 for the first time Jacob mentioned a special friend.
