MOUNT AIRY, NC ~ Mrs. Sarah Agnes Reynolds Tilley, 97, of Riverside Drive, Mount Airy, widow of Ralph A. Tilley, passed away Monday, May 3, 2004, at Surry Community Nursing Center.

Mrs. Tilley was born in Surry County on Aug. 31, 1906 to the late James Armstead and Mary Frances Shuler Reynolds.

She was a homemaker and member of Mount Herman United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Pauline and Wilbur Chilton of Asbury, Marilyn Hill of Clemmons and Louise Hayden and Norma and Lloyd Francis, all of Mount Airy; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Tilley was preceded in death by a son, Weldon Tilley; two grandsons; two sisters, Alice Lambert and Ada Gammons; and three brothers, the Rev. Vester Reynolds, Charlie Reynolds and Jimmy Reynolds.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. R.J. Hartman with burial in the Skyline Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 4, at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Surry County, 1326 N. Main St., Mount Airy, NC 27030.
