An injury suffered when he was struck by an automobile as he supervised the hanging of street banners in Shreveport, proved fatal to J. Denzell Kendrick, 45 year old assistant superintendent of the Police fire alarm system In Shreveport. He was a former citizen of Haynesville, La. having been born and reared south of Haynesville. Mr. Kendrick was a veteran of The First World war, having served two years in the navy. He was a shipmate of Vigil Kendrick a cousin, of this city. He was a member of the Church of Christ, the Masons and the Linemen's union. he began working for the Shreveport fire department on April 21, 1930 and was appointed assistant superintendent of the fire alarm system on Nov. 1, 1933. Surviving sre his widow, Mrs. Ruby Ware Kenderick, one son, one daughter, his mother Mrs. Leeana Kendrick, one brother and one sister.
