Mrs. Mary E. Eastes, 712 W. Howard St., widow of Dr. William T. Eastes, died at Ball Memorial Hospital early Tuesday following an illness of two weeks. She was born in New Brighton, Penn., and has been a resident of Muncie and Delaware County for about 60 years.
Mrs. Eastes was a member of the First Baptist Church and was an active member of the Ladies of the GAR.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Long of Chicago; two grandsons, Arthur and Durward Doyle, both of Muncie; five granddaughters, Mrs. Fred Johnson, Mrs. Robert Harrison, Mrs. William Swanger, and Miss Eloise Doyle, all of Muncie, and Miss Patricia Long of Chicago; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon by Dr. John F. Fraser at the Meeks mortuary. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, or any time before the services Thursday.
