Max E. Baker, 78, of Worthington, passed away 7:01 P. M., Sunday, February 5, 2012, at IU Bloomington Hospital.
Max was born April 17, 1933 in Worthington to John Clayton & Edna (Palmer) Baker.
He retired from NWSC Crane in 1988 with 24 years service. He was a member of Worthington First Baptist Church, where he had held most offices in the Church, and had been song leader. He was an Army Veteran during the Korean War.
He married, Roma Lea Gennicks, Nov. 23, 1957 and she survives; 3 children, Max Allen (Debbie) Baker, Linton, Mary Elaine (Matt Edward) Hunt, Fredericktown, Ohio, Matt (Patty) Baker, Worthington; 13 grandchildren, Jason & Brianne Baker, Marisa & Miranda Miller, Rachel, Nathan, Judy, Grace & Lydia Hunt, Justin & Tasha Baker, Jessica & Ben (Heather) Baker; 2 great grandchildren, Brayden & Kaydance; 3 brothers, Raymond Baker, Worthington, William E. "Buddy" Baker, Brazil, Bobby Baker, French Lick; He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Mike Baker; 3 brothers, Wilson, Ossie Clayton and John Richard Baker; 4 sisters, Marguerite Smith, Wanda Hulett, Mary Alice Baker and Anna Louise Duncan.
Funeral service, Worthington First Baptist, 1:00 P. M. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, with Bro. Matt Baker, his son and Rev. Bill Beckelheimer officiating.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Wednesday and 11:00 A. M. Thursday until time of service at the Church.
Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
