CENTRAL CITY – Charles Carr, 85, died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday at his home, Route 2, Central City, following a long illness.
He was a retired miner of the Greenville Coal Co.
He was born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 6, 1879, and was a member of the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maggie Carr; four sons, John of Henderson, William of Louisville, Leonard of Elizabethtown, and Norman of Oakland, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Ferguson, Ferndale, Mich., Mrs. Ruby McPherson of Chicago, Mrs. Edna Morris, Hopkinsville, and Miss Clara Ruth Carr, Route 2, Central City; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Tucker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call after noon Thursday.
