Funeral Monday for Phyllis A. Gustine
PINE ISLAND -- A memorial service for Phyllis A. Gustine will be 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Pine Island, with the Rev. Ruth Phelps officiating.
Mrs. Gustine, 72, of Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island died Friday (Aug. 2, 1996) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester after a brief illness.
Phyllis A. Schletty was born Feb. 12, 1924, in rural Pine Island and lived in Pine Island most of her life.
She married Jack Gustine on Dec. 27, 1942, in Pine Island. He is a retired cabinetmaker.
Mrs. Gustine worked for a short time at the Pine Island post office and also was a homemaker. She served as church treasurer at United Methodist Church for several years and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Gustine had been a resident of Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island for five years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul of Pine Island; a daughter, Gail (Mrs. Jack) Rucker of Oronoco; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Edna Pavlak and Ruth Peterson, both of Pine Island, Violet Peterson of Minneapolis and Joyce Bristow of Pequot Lakes, Minn. She was preceded in death by a sister.
There will be no reviewal. Her body has been willed to Mayo Clinic for medical research.
