Services for Nancy Jane Montgomery were at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Glenpool. Interment was in Duck Creek Cemetery in Mounds. The Rev. Steve McAbee officiated. Services were under the direction of Jack Selby, Bixby Funeral Service.
Ms. Montgomery was born April 23, 1947 in Meade, Kans. She was the daughter of Jimmie Blackford and Margie Burditt Blackford. She died Friday, March 23, 2007 at her home in Glenpool at the age of 59.
Nancy grew up in the Glenpool area, graduating from Glenpool High School with the Class of 1965. She was employed with Wagoner County as the Deputy County Assessor for more than 22 years, retiring in 2006.
Nancy Blackford and Robert Montgomery were united in marriage on July 17, 1964 at Stilwell. They had been married for 42 years. They resided in Wagoner from 1974 until last year when they moved back to Glenpool. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Glenpool.
Nancy was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Blackford and her husband Robert on March 18, 2007.
Nancy is survived by: John Montgomery and his wife Shonda of Glenpool and their children Derrick, Bradley and Aaron, and Bryan Montgomery and his wife, Sherry of Wagoner and their children Brandon, Amanda and Ashley; her parents, Jim and Margie Blackford of Glenpool; one sister, Judy Burgess of Glenpool; one brother, Terry Blackford of Hulbert.
