Peter H. Long, 60, well known salesman for the Cumberland Brewing Company and cigar distributor, died suddenly at 5:10 p. m., yesterday, from a heart attack at his home, 80 Green street. He had been ill for several weeks. Long was a life-long resident of the city and was widely known throughout the Cumberland section. Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Long: by two sons, George W. Long, this city, and John J. Long; Lakewood, N. J.; by one daughter, Mrs. John L. Schwarzenbach; by two brothers, George L.Long, this city, and Frank J. Long, Clarksburg, W. Va., and by three sisters, Mrs. Michael L. Wiesel and Mrs. Geo. A. Reinhart, this city, and Sister Rodegundis of Delaware City, Del. Mr. Long's younger son, John L. Long, is one ot the city's best known athletes and is athletic director at the Newman School, Lakewood N. J. He was a star member of the football, baseball and basketball teams of Catholic University and captain of the basketball team. He was also a member of the undefeated 1929 football team of Detroit University. During the summer months he is a member of the staff of the Second National in this city. Mr. Long was a member of Council No 586, the Knights of Columbus Cumberland Lodge No. 63, B. P.O. Elks; St. George Branch, No 33, the Catholic Knights of America and the Holy Name Society of Allegany County. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a. m., from SS Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
