LOIS JOANN (DICKERSON) JULIAN

Funeral services for Lois JoAnn (Dickerson) Julian were held Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at the Central Church of Sulphur with Bro. Thomas Thompson officiating. Interment was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at the Monroe Cemetery in Monroe.

JoAnn was born on Jan. 14, 1934, in Monroe to Garland and Essie (Percifield) Dickerson. She died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, in Davis at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 22 days. JoAnn and Floyd Julian were married on July 8, 1974, in Poteau. He, along with her parents and two sisters, Betty Dickerson and Nancy Reece, all preceded her in death.

JoAnn was a graduate of Monroe High School. She spent her career working as a nurse's aide at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center in Pauls Valley. She grew up attending the Church of Christ and most recently attended the Central Church of Sulphur. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching television game shows and traveling every opportunity she had.

JoAnn is survived by one daughter, Carmie Sims and husband, Wayne, of Davis; four sons, Jim Buckner and wife, Lupita, of Overton, Texas, Dave Buckner and Ralph Ramirez, both of Wynnewood, and Wayne Buckner; eight grandchildren, Butch Buckner of Fort Worth, Texas, Amy Buckner of Tyler, Texas, Sarah Buckner of Overton, Beau Buckner of Houston, Texas, Brittan Pickering of Yukon, Mark Pickering of Davis, Brandon Pickering of Tinker AFB and Jaimie Ramirez of Wynnewood; sister, Kay Sims of Davis, and brother, Gary Dickerson.

Services were entrusted to Hale's Funeral Home of Davis.
