Mary B. Parker was born June 24, 1927 and died, peacefully surrounded by three generations of loving family, on February 17, 2006, age 78. She was the third of six children born in Arizona to pioneer parents, Winnie Earvin and Jesse Carl Teague. She was born at home on a ranch at Dripping Springs, near Globe, Arizona. She was a genuine ranch hand and cowgirl; her first horseback ride was at the age of six weeks. She rode, herded goats and pitched hay until her first child was born. They lived four miles from school and rode horses to a one-room schoolhouse with a single teacher for eight grades. Then she became the most loving mother, grandmother and finally, great-grandmother. Mary helped run the family business, a grocery store in Winkelman, Arizona, until retirement in 1977. She enjoyed knitting and taking care of her grandchildren, who were the joys of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William Forrest Parker, Sr.; her brother, Jess Teague and her sister, Goldie Pyeatt. She is survived by a large, devoted family which includes brothers, Mark Teague and Burrell Teague (Chris); sister, Gladys Murphy (Lewis); daughters, Martha P. Collier (Robert), Mary Jane Hicks-Vaughan (Rich) and Frances R. Patronsky (Neal); sons, William Forrest Parker, Jr. and life companion, Larry N. Deutsch and John C. Parker (Jan); grandchildren, John P. Collier, Terrance R. Roberts (Doreen), Dustin Charles Roberts, Theodore Ryan "Chip" Roberts, Ann Renee Jamison (Robert), Ruth Marie Roberts, Alan P. Hicks, Andrew F. Hicks (Amy), Julie E. McGill (Marvin), John W. Parker, Erin Frances Parker and Jessica Lynn Parker and three great-grandchildren, Blaine J. McGill, Katie Collier and Jake Collier. Memorial services were held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY on Sunday, February 19, at 4:00 p.m. Those who desire may donate to the American Lung Association.
