Harold C. Ackron, Sr.

Harold Charles Ackron, Sr., age 65, life-long Belleville area resident, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. He was born January 9, 1947 in Sumpter Township, son of the late James M. & Mary Ann (Kielman) Ackron.
He graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1966. He enjoyed working in the construction business and owned and operated Belleville Contracting for many years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge #934, both of Belleville. He loved deer hunting, planting and tending his flowers and most of all, hanging-out with his grandkids.
Harold is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy Kay (Kuehnel) Ackron, two sons Harold Ackron, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI, Michael (Cathy) Ackron of Newark, Ohio, a daughter Wendy Ackron of Belleville, 4 grandchildren Savannah, Harold III, Kandace & Kristopher Ackron, 2 great-grandchildren Seth Ackron and Kara Tharp, a sister Orlinda Chudzinski of Houghton Lake, MI, brother-in-law Fred Kuehnel of Belleville, numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces & nephews, also his dogs Rocky & Scrubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Brenda Ackron, also four siblings Jim, Jerry, Joyce and Norm Ackron.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday and 12-4 PM & 6-8 PM Thursday with a 7 PM Prayer Service at David C. Brown Funeral Home, Belleville. Closing Prayers will be 10:30 AM Friday at the funeral home, processing to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 409 W. Columbia Ave., Belleville, for an 11 AM Funeral Mass. Father Thomas H. Cusick and Deacon Peter Cornell will serve as Celebrants. Interment will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI.
