Mr. McNeal was born in Ohio on February 6, 1948, and he came to Kansas more than sixty years ago, helping to settle this section of Kansas. He served in Company C of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry for about 18 months during the Civil War.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucina Gilbert McNeal to whom he has been married for more than 51 years; four sons and two daughters, Charles of Topeka, Robert of Broughton, Fred of San Francisco, Henry of Sharon Springs, Mrs. George (Margaret) Conrow and Mrs. Warren (Bertha) Heusted, both of Clay Center, besides other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:30 in the Methodist church in Broughton, preceded by short prayer services at the Peterson-Neill Funeral Home at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in the Broughton cemetery.
