West Lebanon Gazette, January 26 1933

John Barnhart, aged and respected citizen of this city, who has been in poor health the past year or more, died at his home on North West Street yesterday morning about 7:15. Death was the result of complications following a a stroke of paralysis some time ago.

Mr. Barnhart was a son of Thomas Barnhart and was born near Connersville, Indiana on August 24, 1846. He had been a resident of West Lebanon and vicinity for the past fifty years, moving to this city when he retired from farm life. He was married three times, his last wife being Mrs. Theresa Misner of Covington whom he married in 1922 and who survives him. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Day of Toledo, Ohio, and three sons: Charles, John and Herbert, all of Des Moines, Iowa. A sister, Mrs. Lottie Chance of Indianapolis, Indiana, also survives.

Funeral services will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home in West Lebanon Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Francis W. Grossman of the Federated Church will officiate and interment will be made in the Bismark, Illinois cemetery.
