G. B. Carter, 65, of Calvin, died Sunday, August 29, 1976 at the Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston following a short illness.
A native of Calvin, Mr. Carter was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a
logging contractor.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Church near Calvin with the Rev. W. C. Jordan officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Linnie C. Carter of Calvin; one son, Garlon Lee Carter of Calvin; a daughter, Miss Nora Lee Carter of Calvin; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Bates, also of Calvin, and Mrs. Emma Peterson of Goldonna; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were W. L. Carpenter, Leonard Peterson, Jerry Dubois, D.L. Carter, Martin Burnum, Glen Carter, Larry Shirey, and Gary Bates.
