Ernest F Langholf, 82, of Fort Collins, died Saturday Jan 1 2000 at Columbine Care Center West.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Cremation will be conducted.

Ernest Langholf was born Oct 8 1917 in Los Angeles to Edward Langolf and Pearl Chitwood. at the age of 2 his mother died and he went to Walden, where he was raised by his Aunt and Uncle Bessie and Harry Green.

He married Parke Dean on Nov 25 1936 in Castle Rock. They ranched near Walden until 1958. They moved to Fort Collins and Mr Langholf worked for Colorado State University at the Foothills Campus as a senior research technician until 1982. He also raised cattle west of Fort Collins.

He enjoyed the mountains, camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Parke Langholf; one son, Dale Langholf of Fort Collins; one daughter Candace L Aguirre of Westminster; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale Langholf and Edward Langholf.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Larimer Co or the American Lung Association in care of Bohlinger Funeral Home.
