Menard News---June 17, 1915
"Word was received by J. J. Callan of the death of his brother M. M. Callan at Colorado City, Monday, June 14th. Mr. Callan was unable to attend the funeral. Besides J. J. Callan, the deceased leaves two other brothers and two sisters. The funeral was held at Colorado City where the deceased was buried. M. M. Callan will be remembered well here by many as he has at different times visited Menard."

M M Callan was also a Confederate veteran. I believe he filed his pension papers in Mitchell County, also.

Source for MM Callan's first name.....he was called "Michael Callan, Jr of Texas" in his father's obituary.
