Lillian G. Black, 95, a resident of Valley View Home, formerly of Queen, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at the home.
She was born in Queen, daughter of the late Mayberry Sr. and Margaret (Hoenstine) Hainsey. She married George Leon Black on March 5, 1938, in State College. He passed away Nov. 2, 1994.
Surviving are three nephews: Jay Claar, Joel Claar and Mayberry Hainsey III; and two nieces: Judy Lightner and Jan Corle.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Bracie Cox, Violet Claar and Mildred Claar; and a brother, Mayberry Hainsey Jr.
Lillian was a member of the Bible Truth Hall, Queen. She was a proofreader in the Philadelphia Navy Yards and a homemaker.
She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday with Brother Joe Helsel of the Claysburg Bible Church officiating.
Interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Claysburg Food Bank.
