-Funeral services for Mrs. Lessie McCann Moss,92, of Dallas, formerly of Fairlie near Commerce were scheduled at 2 P.M.
Monday at Lybrand Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce with Rev. Lisa Greenwood Wolcott officiating. Burial was at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
-Mrs. Moss died Friday at her home in Dallas following a lengthy illness.
-She was born Feb. 28, 1912, in Arbala in Hopkins County, the daughter of the late Walter and Sally JONAS Barnard. She graduated from high school in Hopkins County. She married Alyie E. McCann in 1936. They later moved to Fairlie, where they owned and operated a general store and also had the ice house. In 1950, the McCanns moved to Arlington. After Mr. McCann's death, Lessie married Victor Ernest Moss in 1958. She worked in medical records at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas until her retirement. Mrs. Moss was a member of First Baptist Church in Arlington.
-Lessie is survived by her son, Travis A. McCann of Dallas; her daughter, Helen Nix and husband, Bob of Jamestown, LA;
grandchildren Dennis L. Wofford of Broken Bow, OK, Mark F. Thompson of Garland, Sandra D. Pinson of Booneville, AR, Deborah Skaggs of De Leon and Leslie C. Leistikow of Mabank;
twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
-Mrs. Moss was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvie McCann; husband, Victor Moss; her daughter, Joyce Wofford; and by three brothers and three sisters.
-Pallbearers were Jason Thompson, Jarod Thompson, Juan Herrera, Jesse Harris, Charles Hailey, and Steve Skaggs. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Thompson, Wes Leistikow, Neal Pinson, Jeff Nix, and Fred Levin.
-Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
