Eugene Peter Allen, age 95, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 2, 2012. He was born on October 7, 1916 in Ogden, Utah the second son of Vernon R. and Christina Ingebretsen Allen.

He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College majoring in accounting. It was there that he met his sweetheart, Mary Heiner. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 2, 1940. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2001. Eugene and Mary spent their early married life in Ogden, until he was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army in January of 1943. He was stationed in San Diego, CA. with the Corps of Engineers. He was honorably discharged from the Army in March of 1946.

His early employment was with Scowcroft & Sons and Farmers Grain Co-op. Later he worked as an accountant with Wasatch Oil Co. He subsequently worked at Weber State College as Director of Property and Inventory Control until his retirement at age 71. He continued to use his accounting skills for 32 years as The Emerald Hills HOA Financial Advisor, finally retiring at age 92.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership capacities as he helped to build up our Heavenly Father's Kingdom on earth. He was always concerned about others and put their welfare ahead of his own. He could talk to anyone and was a friend to everyone.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Kay (Glayde) Maw, Lexington, NC; Patricia Jean Fowers, Hooper; 12 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, a daughter, Christine, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, and there were so many! The family expresses our thanks and appreciation for the tender and loving care that was given to our dad during the last months of his life by Necha and Hailey from Vista Care Hospice. He dearly loved them.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley 4th Ward, 5640 S. 850 E. South Ogden. Interment will follow at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
