Sarah Maria (Fletcher) Ameigh was his 1st wife. Sarah Maria died October 1, 1858. Sarah Lydia (Agard) Ameigh Tichenor was his 2nd wife They were married January 5, 1860. John Tichenor was her 2nd husband. They were married in 1863. Sarah Lydia died June 16, 1868.

AMEIGH.--Mr. Miller V. Ameigh died at the house of Mr. Noah Agard, on Thursday, the 8th of March, 1860 in the 27th year of his age. His disease was rapid consumption, superinduced by a severe hemorrhage of the lungs, which occurred suddenly and unexpectedly about seven weeks before his death. In this painful event we have another demonstration of the saying of the Divine Redeemer, that we "know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." But just two weeks before he was seized with the affliction which terminated his mortal existence, he had been married to the sister of him at whose residence he breathed his last. The newly wedded pair spent a few days in visiting some of their friends, and the day of their return the dark pall of fearful foreboding was suddenly cast over their earthly prospects, and rapidly did our young friend descend into the valley of death. In just nine weeks from the evening on which we had united the amiable pair in the hands of holy wedlock, we enjoyed the melancholy privilege of witnessing the triumph of our dear brother and friend over the "Insatiate Archer," and of closing his eyes as he sank into the embrace of Death, to rise still more triumphant when the sea and the graves shall give up their dead. Our brother had been, for some few years past, a consistent member of our Church at Catharine, where his amiability of deportment, active exertions in the cause of Christ, and religious faithfulness endeared him to all. Last summer he went to New York and engaged as traveling agent for an extensive wholesale establishment in that city. He has been with his former friends in this region during the former part of the winter, and was going to return to his duties in the city about the first of March, but man's thoughts are not as God's. He has taken him to himself; and while his bereaved ones mourn, they have abundant evidence to assure them of his safety, and to enable them to say, "it is well!"--Our deceased friend and brother desired to recover--and who would not?--yet it was with submission to the Divine will. when, on the morning of his decease, he was told that he must die, he was not alarmed. "I am not afraid to die,"said he, "Jesus is precious,"--Many such words he uttered to his friends and companion as they stood around his bed and watched the flickering taper of life. "I have consecrated my all to God , and if the Testament is true, I shall be saved."--"God said, 'let there be light, and there was light,'" "Jesus is precious" said he, and after a brief struggle he ceased to breathe, and we have no doubt but his ransomed spirit at once found itself "present with the Lord." May the comforts of Divine grace be afforded to weeping friends, especially to the stricken widow, and when life's toil and sorrows are over, may they also find that:
"Jesus can make a dying bed
Feel soft as downy pillows are,
While on his breast they lean their head
And breathe their life out sweetly there."
