Cynthia Barnes
JORDAN, MT. ---- Cynthia Barnes, who operated the state liquor store in Jordan from 1961 until retiring in 1968, died Tuesday at age 79 in Garfield County Hospital.
Born in Glencoe, MN., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Churchill.
She grew up in Glencoe and move to Garfield County with her mother in 1916.
Later that year she married George Woods. They homesteaded on Sand Creek moving into Jordan in the early 1920s.
He died in 1953.
In 1973 she married Martin Barnes.
Survivors include the widower; a son, Bill Woods of Kirkland, WA.; a daughter, Katherine Hall of Canoga Park, CA.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. friday in Jordan Community Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Custer Cemetery, Custer, MT.
