Vallie Coykendall, 85, Riverview Place, passed away at the home of her son in Fargo, ND, on Wednesday, June 16, 2004.
Vallie Coykendall was born to James and Anna (Smith) Irwin on October 29, 1918 in Miltona, MN. She graduated from High School in Parker's Prairie, MN.
She married Merle Hawkins in 1942. She worked for over 20 years at Diana Hughes Clothing store and retired in 1980. Merle died in 1984. She lived at Lake Cormorant and wintered in Rockport, TX.
She married Jack Coykendall on April 19, 1988. They moved into Riverview Place in 2002. She enjoyed gardening and yard work, golf, crocheting, and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; children: Diane Maloney, Shakopee, MN, Nancy Russell (Sheldon), Guthrie, OK, Keith Hawkins (Judy), Fargo, ND; stepson: David Coykendall, Eagan, MN; sister: Marjorie Johnson, Galt, CA; five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and two grandchildren: Derrald and Dean Hawkins.
