OBITUARY
Richard E. Adams
Services for Richard Ewing "Ned" Adams, 86, of Medina, who died Tuesday at his home, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.
Burial will be in Adams Cemetery in Medina.
Mr. Adams, born in Tuff, had resided in Medina all of his life. He married Arilla Crawford, September 5, 1925, in Grass Valley, California. She survives.
He was a rancher and member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church. He was past supervisor of the W.P.A. of Bandera County, worked 25 years for the Farm Bureau, was past president of the Medina School Board and member of the Masonic Lodge 58 years. He served as 1st master of Medina Lodge No. 1319, lst worthy patron of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 988. He helped organize the Medina Telephone Co., and was special assistant to the governor from the state water board.
In addition, to his wife, Mr. Adams is survived by two daughters, Loleenn Stevens of Kerrville and Florence Eva Gifford of Junction; a son. R. E. Adams, Jr., of Coppell, three sisters, Irene Hatfield of Medina, Sarah Ola Freeman and Alice Kathleen Mansfield, both of Bandera; two brothers, Gus Alvin "Pete" Adams of Lincoln City, Ore., and Joseph Russell Adams of San Antonio; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
