William J. "Jap" Morgan, 85, Boise, died Thursday, Dec. 22, in a Boise care center. He was born on Oct. 1, 1898, at Stonewall, Okla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie L. Morgan, whom he married on Aug. 26, 1918, at Kanawa, Okla. He worked for Carter Petroleum Co. and then moved from Kansas to Idaho in 1938. They lived on a farm in the Deer Flat area until retiring in 1978.

He is survived by two daughters, Ethel Porter and Ellen Talich, both of Boise; two brothers, Earl of California and George of Texas; two sisters, Zona and Annie of Oklahoma; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a granddaughter.
