Joseph Wright's birth in Goochland County is noted in The Douglas Register. Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy (Virginia and Ohio volumes) records the 1786 joining of the Society of Friends in Bedford County, VA, by Joseph and his wife, Elizabeth (maiden name unknown), and their 1802/1803 move from Bedford Co, VA, to Columbiana Co, OH, as well as Joseph's 2nd marriage to Esther Morgan, and Joseph's death (see records of Salem Monthly Meeting, Columbiana Co, OH, in Hinshaw, vol. IV, p. 790).
Hinshaw says the land originally owned by Salem M.M. occupied "the site of the present business center of Salem," and the property was held until 1871 or later, so it would be the logical burial place for Joseph Wright to be buried in 1831. Also, the sign for the cemetery shows it to have been in use 1818-1891.
