Fred G. Hileman, 83, 2416 S. Beacon, died Friday in Veterans Hospital, Marion.
A native of Elwood, Mr. Hileman attended Elwood Elementary School and Culver Military Academy. He served in the Army during World War I and was employed at Young's Shoe Store prior to retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion in Elwood and Delaware Post 19 in Muncie. He was a past commander for each post and also had been a district commander for the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Evalyn; a daughter, Jacqueline Davis, Arcadia, Fla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be in Beech Grove Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday with Dr. Lewis Gishler officiating. Members of Post 19 will perform military rites. There will be no calling hours. Meeks Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
