Libby was one of eleven children born to William H. and Mary "Elizabeth" (Thompson)Moore. She was born in Scott Township, Ontario and later moved to Miami, Manitoba. She married Gavin Middleton Stephen 20 Jun, 1894 and had two sons; John Wesley (Wes)and George Edgar, as well as a daughter Allie. Tragically Libby died 20 days after Allie's birth, and Allie only lived until August, leaving behind a grieving husband and two young boys.
