Michael H. Amaker DARLINGTON - Michael H. Amaker, 53, died Sunday Feb. 7, 2010 in a Florence hospital. Michael was born in Columbia, SC, a son of Jane Sox Amaker and the late Henry R. "Chick" Amaker. Despite having cerebral palsy that may have caused some of us to give up, Michael graduated from Hemingway High School where he was a member of the Beta Club and attended Francis Marion University and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Surviving are his mother, Jane S. Amaker of Hemingway; brothers, Ronald G. (Margo) Amaker of Granite Falls, NC; Terry L. (Sallie) Amaker of Murrells Inlet, SC and Barney B. Amaker of Hemingway; 4 nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway with burial in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 2 PM Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010. Memorials may be made to the UCP of South Carolina, 3681 Leaphart Road, Suite A, W. Columbia, SC 29169.
