Chico Enterprise-Record, Monday, September 26, 1960: "Carl W. McCray. Oroville (E-R) --- Carl W. McCray, 80, of Route 5, Box 5524, Oroville, died yesterday at a local hospital. A retired farmer, he was a native of Fresno. The death of Mr. McCray, a rancher at Brentwood before coming to Oroville, was attributed to a heart condition. He had entered the hospital Tuesday.
"Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Norman Brown of Grass Valley, and Camille McCray of Oroville; and a brother, Vernon of San Francisco.
"Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Hamilton and Riley chapel here. The Rev. Leon Thomson, pastor of the Oroville Congregational Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions can be given to the Butte-Glenn Heart Fund."
