She was born in Russell County on Aug. 2, 1924 to Effie Aaron Clayton and Joe Clayton, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow Clayton and Wendell Clayton; one half brother, John Henry Clayton; and three half sisters, Susie Brown, Maud Blakey and Anthy Phillips.
Miss Clayton is survived by one brother, Hugh Ross Clayton, Sr. of Tell City, Indiana. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was a member of the Jamestown Christian Church.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 13, at 1 p.m. at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Stephens officiating.
Interment was in Jamestown City Cemetery.
