James R. Heiser, of Gettysburg, died February 1, 2012.

He was born September 12, 1959, in Gettysburg, the son of the late Edward Heiser, Sr. and Mary Scott Heiser of Gettysburg.

Jim was a member of the Gettysburg United Methodist Church. He was an active participant in the Special Olympics, winning a gold medal in bowling.

For many years Jim was employed at the HART Center in New Oxford, and was a member of their Life Skills Program.

He was an avid Penn State football fan.

In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by two brothers, Edward Heiser, Jr. and wife, Stephne of Gettysburg, and John Heiser and wife, Mary of Boiling Springs; four nieces, Sherry Hanson, Stephanie Lingle, Shelley Warfield, and Heather Heiser; and a nephew, Timothy Heiser.

Funeral services will be held Gebruary 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Gettysburg United Methodist Church, with interment following in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
